Welcome to Harrogate Festival Choral Course
Welcome to the Harrogate Festival Choral Course! If you're serious about singing and enjoy spending time with like-minded people then we hope we have something that will interest you. We're setting up a new choral course in Harrogate over the Bank Holiday weekend in August which will culminate in a performance of Rutter's Magnificat and Elgar's The Music Makers in the newly-refurbished Royal Hall. During the course you'll also get the chance to sing and perform some shorter pieces for male voices, if you're a tenor or bass, or upper voices, if you sing alto or soprano. There'll also be some optional master classes if you want to learn from the experts. But first....who exactly are we?
We're Lynn Hudson and Thom Meredith, a husband and wife team who for several years tutored on the popular Harrogate Choral Week, John Dunford, the Director of Music at Ashville College, and conductor of both the Ripon and Wetherby Choral Societies and Sue Rosborough, Administrator of Halifax Young Singers.
So, with the team in place, and Ashville College able to provide excellent accommodation, there's only one piece in the jigsaw missing...and that's where you come in!
We need singers! If you have some experience of choral singing, whether in a church choir, community group or choral society, would like to take part in a concert in an exceptional venue, and want to make new friends and explore a lovely part of the country, then this might be just the course for you.
