Course Timetable
The Harrogate Festival Choral Course will run over the Bank Holiday weekend in August, from Saturday 23rd to Thursday 28th.
Arrival is between 4.30pm and 5.30pm and the course begins officially with a warm welcome and dinner on the Saturday evening followed by the first full choir rehearsal.
On Sunday and Monday both the full choir and chamber choir rehearsals take place in the mornings and evenings with free time for singers in the afternoons.
Vocal master classes, given by John and Thom, will take place on Sunday and Monday evenings. These are included in the cost of the course and singers can volunteer to take part or sit back and relax as members of the audience.
Rehearsals continue on Tuesday culminating in the concert in Ashville's Soothill Hall in the evening. This will feature the male and female voice choirs, the pianist Richard Uttley, a third year music scholar at Cambridge University, and Dr Paul Whittaker of Music and the Deaf.
On Wednesday evening, the Harrogate Festival Chorus will perform in the magnificent newly-refurbished Royal Hall in Harrogate. Rehearsals will be held in the venue during the day.
Departure is after breakfast on Thursday 28th.
Participants are encouraged to enjoy all aspects of the course by attending on a residential basis, however we appreciate that singers from the local area may wish to take part in the excellent music-making opportunities without the need for accommodation on site. The cost of this option is detailed on the costs page in the Register and Apply section.
