Thanks to everyone who came on our August 2018 course. It was lovely to welcome so many new singers and to renew acquaintance with old friends. The course was a great success as evidenced by the overwhelmingly positive feedback from delegates and the reactions of the audience to our wonderful concert of Rutter’s Requiem and Dona Nobis Pacem by Vaughan Williams, performed in the Abbey Church.
We are now pleased to announce that the choral works chosen for HFCC at Ampleforth Abbey 2019 (August 18th – 23rd) will be Rachmaninoff’s Bogoroditse Devo, Finzi’s Magnificat and Rossini’s Stabat Mater. The programme will also include Vavilov’s Ave Maria (attributed to Caccini) for string orchestra and solo cello.
Booking for the course will open in the New Year (January 2019) but, if you want to sing with us before then, there are still a few places available for Welcome Yule, our Advent choral weekend held in the Lake District from Friday November 30th – Sunday December 2ne 2018. (For full details click on the Welcome Yule tab.)
